Panagbenga 2013 Grand Street Dancing Parade Photos

The Panagbenga 2013 grand street dancing parade here in Baguio City is ongoing while I'm writing this post. For the benefit of those who can't go to Session Road and watch the grand parade, I've decided to post some photos here. And guess what? Baguio City proper is crowded - from Nevada Square down to Lowet Session Road! I'm a living witness! Hahaha! And thank God, it's not hot today. I hope it won't rain.

Panagbenga is a festival that brings out the true character of Baguio’s diversity through entertaining street dancing and magnificent flower float parades. It is going to be another profitable month for hotels, transient houses, restaurants, and other establishments as thousands of tourists are expected to flood the city for an opportunity to take part in the blossoming events.

Performers from Fort Del Pilar Elementary School. Panagbenga Festival (English: Flower Festival) is a month-long annual flower festival occurring in Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines. The term is of Malayo-Polynesian origin, meaning "season of blooming". The festival, held during the month of February, was created as a tribute to the city's flowers and as a way to rise up from the devastation of the 1990 Luzon earthquake.
