Top Rank CEO and founder Bob Arum formally filed an appeal to investigate the scoring of the recently concluded Pacquaio-Bradley WBO welterweight championship after the worldwide outrage over the split-decision victory awarded to Timothy Bradley. The request which was submitted to Nevada State Attorney General Catherine Cortez "seeks a full and complete inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the scoring."
Arum said, "The public has a right to know. The fighters have a right to know. The only way to restore fans' confidence in boxing is by letting an independent body investigate every detail of the fight no matter how big or small. Sunshine never hurt anyone."
Meanwhile, Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquaio said he has no plans of pursuing any form of protest, and said he’d rather move on, and look forward to his next fight, most likely a rematch with Bradley in November.
"Let's accept the decision," said Manny Pacquaio. “Let’s all be humble. I’m not even affected by it. I just try to draw strength from God."
The Pacquiao-Bradley welterweight title fight took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, overseen by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
